Following the success of our recent Levantine Feast, where we celebrated the food, wine, and music of the eastern Mediterranean, we are offering a magic carpet ride to Hong Kong, to celebrate the very best of authentic Chinese cuisine and world-class music.
Over the last two years, with support from the British government, many Hong Kong Chinese have been able to escape increasing levels of political oppression imposed by the Beijing-backed Hong Kong legislature. One of the consequences of this has been our good fortune in Trowbridge to welcome two exceptional chefs into our community, Doris Wong and Ah-Leng Chung. Their cooking is sublime and their charm exceptional.
Their four-course menu will also cater for vegans and vegetarians:
Garlic Cucumber and Drunk tomatoes (a typical dish originating from Shanghai)
Fried lamb in cumin with mushroom bun (originating from Sichuan)
Roasted Crispy Pork Belly with rice or sweet and sour vegan pork with rice (originating from
Guangdong)
Red Bean sweet soup
To complement the delicious food, we welcome two world-class musicians, Raymond Yu and his wife, Pang Ching, who also arrived in this part of the world less than a year ago. Raymond is classically trained in the western tradition, whilst his wife, Pang Ching, is a graduate of the Beijing Conservatoire and is a virtuosa erhu player. It is an instrument that produces one of the most beautiful and evocative sounds you will ever hear.
Join us for this unique and unmissable night of celebration.
Please book for your whole group. Those booked separately may be seated separately.
