Experimental Drawing Club
Wednesdays | 22, 29 Feb, 8, 15, 22, 29 March | 10am – 1pm
£12 adv per session, £15 otd per session. Materials Incl.
These sessions are a time to explore the enormous possibilities and aspects of drawing. We experiment in a range of media, techniques and processes. In the past we’ve made leporello/concertina books – played Surrealist party games – made automatic drawings – drawn in response to text and music – drawn from memories and half-rememberings and semi forgotten dreams – drawn from films and/or props. Each session we make lots of work and spend time together after each exercise discussing what we’ve done. No previous experience necessary – just a want to play with materials and to explore drawing processes. Please don’t wear anything fancy – grubby clothes recommended. I will always have additional media to use from the studio if you feel your artwork needs something added.

About Alison Ballance: I am a practising artist working in drawing, art writing, photography, painting and textiles. I am passionate about making art in supportive group environments and love teaching experimental art techniques. I am a graduate from Goldsmith MFA Fine Art and Chelsea College of Art and Design BA Fine Art Painting and have recently moved to Trowbridge.
