🎬Film Screening: ‘Tish’:
Director: Paul Sng (UK, 2023) | Certification: 15 | 90 minutes | Documentary | Language: English
A film selected by our film curator Lorena Pino Montilla – immerse yourself in the captivating narrative of ‘Tish,’ a film that shines a light on Tish Murtha, a visionary photographer committed to documenting the struggle and inequality of the working-class communities that framed her upbringing. Her archive of work from Northeast England and London’s Soho in the 1970s and 1980s is lovingly realised in this exploration of the legacy of her work and private life by her daughter, Ella Murtha.

📷Community Photograph:
We’ll be working with a local photographer Anna Chrystal Stephens to create a Trowbridge community photograph. Women are invited to have their portrait taken during the event, these will be collated into a collage and shown at the end. This element isn’t mandatory; however we strongly encourage everyone to take part in this celebration of community and womanhood by stepping in front of the lens.
🍽 Refreshments by Wafaa and Storehouse Café:
We’re excited to be inviting local chef Wafaa back for another International Women’s Day event. She’ll be providing some complimentary snacks on the day, and teas and coffees will be available to purchase from the wonderful Storehouse Café.
🎟Free Admission:
This event is open to all, and admission is absolutely free! We believe that empowerment and inspiration should be accessible to everyone. Join us in creating an inclusive space where people from all walks of life can come together to share, learn, and celebrate each other. This event is for ages 15+.
🌈Aim: Capturing and Celebrating Community:
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a powerful celebration of womanhood. Bring your friends, family, and colleagues to join us in capturing and celebrating community and joy.
Let’s make International Women’s Day a day of inspiration, empowerment, unity and inclusion.
