The Four Winds (The Odyssey)
A bold 21st century reimagining of Homer’s Odyssey by Wiltshire writer Florence Espeut-Nickless, developed with and performed by the local community.
Having just survived the Cyclops, Odysseus and his crew discover Aeolia, a beautiful party island ruled by a power-hungry Queen. The crew are Trowbridge lads desperate to get home, signed up for a war they had no say in.
It tells this ancient story through the contemporary lens of Andy and Dion, a couple in love, from Studley Green. When Andy is drafted into the army by Odysseus, it’s Dion and their young kids who will pay the ultimate price.
It looks at who our leaders are, who pays for their failings, and how we survive when our everyday heroes are taken from us.
