Front of house

Our front of house volunteers are the first point of contact to those coming into the building so must be there to provide a warm welcome.

As well as welcoming people into the building from the reception desk and giving directions, you will oversee the sales from our shop which sells locally made art, jewellery, ceramics as well as a selection of books.

Repairs & Maintenance

Our restoration group meets on a regular basis to help keep the building in good shape. While people who have experience working with heritage buildings are a great help, anyone willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved are welcome to join the group.

Projects can range from electrical and lighting upgrades, project scoping and redecorating, to putting up shelves, fixing taps and much more.

Historical Tours

Anyone interested in giving tours should have a passion for the history of Trowbridge & the Town Hall. They should be confident in speaking in front of small groups of visitors, including making our tours an engaging experience for school children. Usually the tours are conducted on a Saturday or on a previously booked day in the week.

Training would come from one of our experienced volunteers who has a wide historical knowledge of the Town Hall.

Event Stewarding

From children’s shows to live music, film, art exhibitions, dance, theatre, community events and more, we need the help of stewards to make sure these events run smoothly. Some of these events will be shown throughout the day & evening so we’d like volunteers who are flexible with their time.

Volunteers help to usher the event, check tickets, show the audience to their seats, assist with fire evacuation and clearing down after events.
