Join Our Board

Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, Trowbridge Town Hall Trust is preparing for its next chapter at The Old Town Hall – a vibrant creative and community hub in the heart of the town. It will host live events, exhibitions, classes, community activities, and a welcoming café – a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to create, connect, and be inspired.

Behind the scenes, the organisation is guided by its Board of Trustees. Trustees play a vital role in ensuring the Town Hall stays true to its mission, manages its resources responsibly, and operates within the law. They are the charity’s ultimate decision-making body – providing leadership, guidance, and oversight, and always acting in the best interests of the organisation.

We are now looking for new Trustees to join our Board. In particular, we are seeking a new Treasurer to lead on financial oversight, as well as individuals with experience in fundraising, law, building and capital projects, marketing or human resources. However, we welcome applications from anyone who feels they can bring valuable skills, insights, or lived experience to the organisation.

Trustees contribute their knowledge and experience to strengthen our work, helping the staff team and volunteers to deliver more effectively for the community. As a Trustee, you would take part in between four and eight Board Meetings each year, and also join one of four subcommittees: Finance and Risk, Community Engagement, Building Development, or Fundraising. Trustees share responsibility for collective decision-making, contribute to policies and procedures, and ensure the organisation operates with integrity, inclusivity, and transparency.

Becoming a Trustee is a meaningful way to give back to your community. You’ll be helping to shape the future of a much-loved local charity, supporting our work with people of all ages and backgrounds, and ensuring we continue to thrive for years to come. It’s also a rewarding opportunity to develop new skills, broaden your experience, and work alongside a committed group of people who are passionate about their community.
