Thanks to a Theatre Nation Partnership (TNP) innovation fund grant, in April 2025 Trowbridge Town Hall invited local theatre makers, performance creatives and those who work in live performance to share their experience with us. We ran 3 facilitate sessions with the aim to;
- Identify and connect with artists living in the area who were actively working in the live performance.
- Learn about their practice and explore ways in which the Town Hall might help develop and support the ideas of local artists
- How TTH could build and develop relationships with local artists.
Informed by these initial sessions, in July 2025 we ran our first Skill Sharing session. Featuring six dynamic 20-minute micro-sessions led by creatives from the network, each sharing their area of expertise. There was some fantastic interaction and sharing of practice, including tips and tricks to writing a successful funding application, singing for wellbeing, and a bitesize Introduction to safe violence in theatre.

In November, we’ll be holding a Scratch Night at the Old Town Hall. We’ll be inviting applications for those interested in sharing work in development in front of an audience.
The project has enabled Trowbridge Town Hall to connect with local artists and begin building a working network that supports both the artists and the Town Hall in creating art with, and for the people of Trowbridge and Wiltshire.
We’ve already begun conversations about future collaborations, and it’s encouraging to see members of the network not only developing their own work but also forming new creative connections with one another.
